Summary
- Pace Chaser and Late Surger split the round-2 wins in one graded window of 80 races: 34 and 32. End Closer took 9 and Front Runner 5.
- Ace: Neo Universe as Late Surger (43 appearances, 16 wins in that round 2). Mr. C.B. as End Closer had the better per-start rate in round 1 (11 wins from 35 appearances) and faded to 7 from 40 in round 2.
- The Pace Chaser and Late Surger gold acceleration from the El Condor Pasa support card is the accel. It did not make every horse equal: Dance Mejiro Ardan was not the win leader.
- Aim near 1500/1200/1200/1000/1150 with Medium S. One gold recovery is worth about 200 stamina. A graded winner also took the race with two Front Runners plus one Pace Chaser.
- The same 80-race window, opponents only, names the rest of the field. Round 2 appearances and wins: Sirius Symboli 15 and 5, swimsuit Agnes Tachyon 16 and 4, Silence Suzuka 15 and 3, summer Mejiro Dober 7 and 3. A Gold Ship row tagged as the L'Arc outfit was 10 and 5 in round 1, then 11 and 1 in round 2. New Year Kitasan Black was common and cold: 24 and 3 in round 1, 17 and 1 in round 2.
- Day 3 of round 2, not the full 80: 27 of 28 Neo Universe runs were Late Surger, and Late Surgers who were not Neo Universe won 8 of 43. Day 1 End Closers other than Mr. C.B. won 4 of 17. Round 2 average opponent rank was UF9 and the recorded winner averaged UE. Gate 5 took 14 of those 80 wins.
- Round 1 of the same window, opponents only: Tokai Teio 15 appearances and 4 wins, swimsuit Agnes Tachyon 8 and 3, autumn Tamamo Cross 9 and 3. A separate 20-race room the week before, opponents only, was Front Runner 16 slots and 2 wins, Pace Chaser 32 and 6, Late Surger 54 and 11, End Closer 18 and 1. The counter's own team was one Pace Chaser, one Late Surger and one speed debuffer, so this is not a room of 9.
- A self-selected poll of horses brought: Neo Universe 18, Mr. C.B. 13, T.M. Opera O 10, Grass Wonder 7, morning Kitasan Black 6. Styles those respondents said they used: Front Runner 9, Pace Chaser 24, Late Surger 21, End Closer 13. Final 1st, either side, highest was Neo Universe at 5. One other graded win used New Year Kitasan Black, Valentine Mihono Bourbon, and Silence Suzuka as Runaway, with no win count.
Guides: Neo + Pace ace + debuffer is an inference; the data are best rivals.
Running styles
Styles the guides favor: Late SurgerPace Chaser
Use is the share of rival Umas that ran each style in Japan: how popular it was, not how often it won.
Result: wins or first places in room matches set up in Japan with this CM's conditions. Small samples, not Global and not a win rate in the real event. In this CM the result counts the best rival on one author's sheet, with the author's own team left out: they are not real wins.
| Style | Verdict | Use in Japan | Result in JP rooms | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Front Runner | Weak | 15.6 % | 6.3 %as best rival (not wins) | Measured Round 2 slot share 15.6% and 5 of 80 wins (6.7% of that style's own appearances). Round 1 was 69 slots and 8 wins. A separate graded winner did run two Front Runners, so the style is not dead, but it was not the volume. Sample: round 2, 80 graded races, opponents only: 75 slots, 5 best-rival points |
| Runaway | Weak | not counted | — | Inference Runaway was not a separate row. A 20-race pre-event Room Match said more Runaway and two-or-three Front Runner teams had appeared, and that rooms with three Front Runners were mostly strong players. No win count. Sample: not split out of Front Runner |
| Pace Chaser | Strong | 37.3 % | 42.5 %as best rival (not wins) | Measured Largest round-2 win share (34 of 80) at 37.3% of opponent slots. Per-start rate 19.0%, just under Late Surger. Round 1 was 170 slots and 30 wins. Sample: round 2, 80 graded races: 179 slots, 34 best-rival points |
| Late Surger | Best | 30.4 % | 40 %as best rival (not wins) | Measured Best per-start rate in round 2 (21.9%) and 32 of 80 wins. Neo Universe alone was 16 of those wins from 43 appearances. Round 1 per-start rate was only 12.5% (21 wins). Sample: round 2, 80 graded races: 146 slots, 32 best-rival points |
| End Closer | Viable | 16.7 % | 11.3 %as best rival (not wins) | Measured Round 1 was the End Closer window: 73 slots, 21 wins, 28.8% per start, led by Mr. C.B. Round 2 dropped to 9 wins and 11.3% per start. The style cannot use the El Condor Pasa gold acceleration. Sample: round 2, 80 graded races: 80 slots, 9 best-rival points |
Expected room
Front Runners per room: no source counted them. Runaways per room: no source counted them. Measured
No source counted Front Runners in a full room of 9. The figures in the style table are one graded window or a pre-event Room Match sample, not a server census.

In Japan: Round 2 opponent wins: 16 from 43 appearances. Round 1 was 5 from 37, so the card was common before it became the win leader. A self-selected poll also put this card first among horses players brought. Not in the Global planner roster. Measured

In Japan: Round 1: 11 wins from 35 appearances, the best per-start rate of that sheet. Round 2: 7 from 40. End Closer, so the plan is Encroaching Shadow rather than the El Condor Pasa gold. Not in the Global planner roster. Measured

In Japan: Round 1: 5 wins from 16 appearances. Round 2: 4 from 14. Pace Chaser who can carry the El Condor Pasa gold. In Global this id is O Sole Suo!. Measured

In Japan: Round 2: 7 wins from 25 appearances. One graded winner's Pace Chaser in a two-Front-Runner team. In Global this id is Peak Joy, the 1st outfit. Measured

In Japan: Round 1 opponents: 15 appearances and 4 wins. Round 2: 12 and 4. A pre-event guide put the dance outfit first among Pace Chasers. The sheet does not make her the win leader. The Global roster only has Crystalline (107101); this id is not that card. From guides

In Japan: A pre-event guide names the original as one of the few Front Runners worth trying, and still rates that style as the one to avoid. The round-2 opponent sheet has a Seiun Sky row at 6 appearances and 0 wins. In Global this id is Reeling in the Big One. From guides

In Japan: A pre-event guide names her, with a newer Gold Ship outfit, as an End Closer who can carry Encroaching Shadow behind Mr. C.B. The round-1 opponent sheet has Narita Taishin at 7 appearances and 1 win. In Global this id is Nevertheless. From guides

| Minimum | 1400 | 1000 | 1100 | 800 | 800 |
Stamina with a gold recovery skill: 1000.Without one: 1200.
Aptitudes: Medium S is the speed aptitude guides call mandatory. Turf aptitude is the power multiplier. Style S is useful and not described as mandatory.
From guides Guide targets, not a measured win curve. One build page wants 1500+/1200+/1200+/1000+/1150+ and treats a 5.5% gold recovery as about 200 stamina. Another page's floor with one gold is stamina 901 because of the track correction. A third page accepts 1400 speed and calls a gold recovery poor skill-point value if two white recoveries are already there.
Check your own build in the HP Calculator before training: these targets come from Japanese guides.
Skills
Inherited uniques 4
- Angling and SchemingFront RunnerFront Runner corner accel if the slot is used anyway. Inherit from Seiun Sky [Reeling in the Big One].
- Shooting Star of DioskouroiPace ChaserLate SurgerSirius Symboli's unique. Fastest late acceleration on this course when the horse is 3rd favorite or better; below that the effect drops hard. Inherit it. It does not replace the El Condor Pasa gold.
- Budding BlossomPace ChaserLate SurgerNishino Flower's unique. Late acceleration for 3rd or 4th. A Pace Chaser or Late Surger spare when Shooting Star of Dioskouroi is skipped. It arms only after a mid-race block.
- Shooting for Victory!Pace ChaserLate SurgerTaiki Shuttle's unique. Same 3rd-to-4th window as Budding Blossom, a bit less acceleration, and no mid-race block, so it is the steadier spare.
Gold skills 2
- Final-corner gold accelerationPace ChaserLate SurgerNot in Global yetPace Chaser and Late Surger gold acceleration from the El Condor Pasa support card: final corner, 600 m or more left, through 6th, acceleration 0.4 for 0.9 s. Guides treat a run that misses it as a restart. It does not fire for End Closers, and it does nothing when the late race starts inside the corner or the straight is the whole late phase.
- Encroaching ShadowEnd CloserThe End Closer accel, because the El Condor Pasa gold does not apply. About 17 m into the late race.
Green skills 6

Team compositions
Neo Universe (Late Surger) + a second Late Surger or Pace Chaser with the El Condor Pasa gold + Mr. C.B. (End Closer)
From guides The round-2 sheet is a Neo Universe round, and Mr. C.B. is the End Closer that still won. This is the shape the counts support, not a published six-card deck.
Tokai Teio [Peak Joy] (Pace Chaser) + Mihono Bourbon (Front Runner) + Kitasan Black (Front Runner)
From guides One graded campaign: 39 of 40 in round 1 and 37 of 40 in round 2, then 1st in the final. The Pace Chaser carried the El Condor Pasa gold plus extra accels so that, as the lead Pace Chaser, the worst position was 3rd. Room-match rate for the two-Front core was described as about 70%, without a sample size.
New Year Kitasan Black (Front Runner) + Valentine Mihono Bourbon + Silence Suzuka (Runaway)
Anecdote One graded win. No win count and no six-card deck.
2 × Front Runner + 1 × Pace Chaser
From guides One graded campaign: 39 of 40 in round 1 and 37 of 40 in round 2, then 1st in the final. The Pace Chaser carried the El Condor Pasa gold plus extra accels so that, as the lead Pace Chaser, the worst position was 3rd. Room-match rate for the two-Front core was described as about 70%, without a sample size.
Debuffers
Depends on the room A self-selected poll was 6 yes and 27 no on a debuffer slot, and 0 of 30 on a lid horse. One graded winner used no debuffer. One platinum final credited a debuff. A Korean retrospective of the same course says some rooms were one ace plus two debuffers, with no count.

Measured data
Counts as their sources give them, each with its own sample. Win counts come from room matches or single accounts in Japan: small samples, not Global and not a win rate.

What may differ in Global
- The course matches Global: Longchamp, 2400 m, right, autumn, rain, Soft. JP trained in Project L'Arc, which Global will not have on the same calendar.
- Neo Universe and Mr. C.B. are not in the planner roster. T.M. Opera O at this id is O Sole Suo!. Dance Mejiro Ardan is not the Crystalline card.
- The El Condor Pasa gold acceleration (skill 202711) is not in the Global skill data this planner ships, so the JP accel package does not transfer until that skill exists.
- Child of Longchamp is named in the skill list and marked not in Global.
- No winner published a six-card support deck. Guide decks were speed 3, stamina 1, wit 1, friend 1, with the El Condor Pasa speed card treated as mandatory for Pace Chaser and Late Surger.
Gaps in the data
- The 80-race sheets are one graded observer, not a server census. Open League was not counted.
- Front Runners per room of 9 were not published. Runaway was not split from Front Runner.
- No measured stamina cutoff. The 901, 1000 and 1200 figures are guide floors.
- Outfit titles for cards missing from the planner roster are labels, not Global master titles.
- The Global English title of skill 202711 is not in the skill catalog. The row uses a description, not a guessed proper name.
- A target-speed skill that keys off any late-race straight overlaps the acceleration on the false straight and does not help. One that waits for the real final straight still does. Mejiro Dober's unique fires as the mid-race enters the final corner, so it is spent before this late phase.
